Join us for our last PTCO meeting of the 2024–2025 school year! We'll reflect on the year's achievements, discuss open PTCO roles for the coming school year and look ahead to what's ahead for High Plains -- including our 10 Year Anniversary in August!

2025 BISON STAMPEDE
We Are Seeking Corporate Sponsors!

The Bison Stampede, High Plains’ only all-school fundraiser is a fun, high-energy jog-a-thon that unites our entire community in support of students and staff.

 

Proceeds help fund key programs throughout the year—like field trip transportation, teacher appreciation, enrichment activities, and more!

 

We’re seeking corporate sponsors to help make the 2025 Stampede a success! Sponsorships range from $250 to $1,000 and include year-round logo placement at High Plains.

25-26 Open PTCO Roles

Want to volunteer, meet other HPS parents, or make a difference? The PTCO (Parent Teacher Community Organization) is a great place to start!  We support education, build school-home-community connections, and improve HPS through volunteer and financial efforts.

Psst...We'll let you in on a little secret!  Not all of these roles were filled last year (e.g. Website/App Chair, Communications Chair, On-Site Stampede Coordinator, Social Chair).  ANY time and effort you can provide would be appreciated!

YEAR-LONG ROLES

Website/App Chair

Help keep our spaces fresh and up to date!

  • Update PTCO website & app with info about events, meetings, and more

  • Time commitment: Light / Monthly meeting + ~1-2 hrs

Social Media Chair

Share the fun on social!

  • Post pics and blurbs about PTCO. Can’t make an event? We’ll send you pix!

  • Time commitment: Light / Monthly meeting + ~1 hr

Teacher Appreciation Chair

Help us treat our amazing staff!

  • Order staff meal 4-5x year, Book Coffee Truck during teacher appreciation week.

  • Time commitment: Light / Monthly meeting + ~1 hr/event

Communications

Keep families in the loop!

  • Decorate PTCO bulletin board quarterly + print and deliver ‘PTCO update flyers’ into teacher mailboxes

  • Time Commitment: Light / Monthly meetings + ~1-2 hrs

Secretary

simple but essential role!

  • Take notes and track attendance at PTCO meetings ( 1 hour/month).

  • Time Commitment: Light / Monthly meeting + ~1 hr

SHORT-TERM ROLES

On-Site Stampede Coordinator

 Be the logistics lead on Stampede day!

  • Help with set up, assist with volunteer sign-in, and keep things running smoothly.

  • Time commitment: A few days of prep leading up to event day + the Stampede

Fundraising Chair

Lead outreach for the Bison Stampede

  • This role sounds daunting -- but I promise it's not!  Spend a few days over the summer dropping off letters to local business (we'll provide a list!) and collecting any goody bag donations!

  • Time commitment: Light (July–September)

10 Year Anniversary

Coordination and planning of 

  • Work with our team to lead logistics and planning for our HPS celebration

  • Time commitment: Seasonal (July–September)
